Pay Rate: $7.25 per hour
Hours: 20 per week ? some evenings required (40 weeks total, Aug-May)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Global Community Formation Assistant helps develop mercy and justice service projects and intercultural engagement opportunities for the Asbury Seminary community. The assistant will also provide practical administrative support to the ministry of the Community Formation office under the direction of the Manager for Global Community Formation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assist in developing and facilitating local mercy and justice service projects for students to be involved in, including fall and spring school-wide service projects.
2. Assist in developing an Urban Plunge experience for a group of students.
3. Assist in developing forums for the Asbury community on mercy and justice issues, diversity issues, support of women entering ministry, and cultivating cross-cultural relationships.
4. Part of a team that offers hospitality and care for international and ethnic minority students.
5. Provide administrative support to ongoing and newly initiated programs/projects as needed under the direction of the manager.
6. Commitment to the Global Community Formation mission: to encourage and empower the Asbury Seminary community towards thinking globally and acting locally.

1. Significant experience in mercy and justice ministry.
2. Love for working with people from diverse cultural contexts.
3. Communication skills to help lead and facilitate service projects for the Asbury Seminary community.
