With the latest graduating NYRS class, the ranks of New York Residential Specialists now exceeds 220 agents from 30 different brokerage companies.
The NYRS designation, bestowed by The Real Estate Board of New York (REBNY), is the highest professional credential in residential sales. It identifies those qualified Associate Brokers who have met qualifying criteria and completed an advanced graduate program designed specifically for the nuances of the New York City market.
First awarded in 2007 and now in its 10th semester, the NYRS course, designed and created by brokers for brokers, includes classes taught by industry experts on real estate law, macro-economics, commercial real estate, ethics, negotiation, marketing, and technology. Each semester, the curriculum is revised to reflect changing market conditions and emerging issues.
NYRS co-chairs Shirley Hackel, executive managing director at Warburg Realty, and Frank Russo, vice president at Halstead, congratulated the crowd for their commitment to advanced education and professional excellence and thanked program sponsors.
?We?re especially looking forward to the challenge of taking NYRS to the next level to raise consumer awareness for the credential,? said Hackel and Russo.

The nine-week session included 6 hours on New Developments featuring a new class entitled ?Birthing a New Building? where architect John Cetra, developer Thomas Dunlap and marketer Richard Pandiscio discussed designing, financing and branding new construction and conversions.
