Uncle Vanya: Sydney Theatre Company
Featuring Academy Award-winning actress Kate Blanchett, this 1897 Anton Chekov play tells the story of a remote Russian farm that Uncle Vanya and his niece Sonya try to sustain, only to be upended dramatically, and humorously, by Sonya?s father and his new wife. The play is 2 hours 40 minutes with one intermission.

The Metropolitan Opera Summer Recital Series
An annual tradition since 2009, the Metropolitan Opera brings free opera to parks in all five boroughs. With a changing roster of performers singing favorite arias and duets, the Central Park performance on July 25 will feature Met stars Danielle de Niese (soprano), Dimitri Pittas (tenor), and John Del Carlo (bass-baritone), accompanied by pianist Dan Saunders.

Queens Symphony Orchestra: ?La Traviata?
A semi-staged, full production of Verdi?s famous opera ?La Traviata? is performed by the Queens Symphony Orchestra. The 1853 opera is the romantic tragedy of Violetta Val?ry, a famed but also sickly French courtesan tortured by her love for the nobleman Alfredo.

To officially open the annual Mostly Mozart Festival, the festival?s orchestra fittingly performs an all-Mozart program that includes ?Overture to La Clemenza di Tito? ; Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor, K.466; ?Misero! O Sogno?; Un? Aura Amorosa,? from ?Cos? fan Tutte?; Symphony No. 38 (?Prague?). Louis Langr?e will conduct, and pianist Nelson Freire and tenor Lawrence Brownlee are featured.
