University of Arizona football fans will see some familiar faces in the Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game on January 16th at Kino Stadium, starting at 6:00 p.m. Wildcat seniors Derek Earls, Robert Golden, C.J. Parish, Mohammed Usman and Paul Vassallo will all play on the Stripes team.Derek Earls is a linebacker from Waconia, MN. Earls started all 12 games and led the Wildcats with 74 tackles.
Robert Golden had 69 tackles and one interception for Arizona in 2011. The cornerback is from Fresno, CA.
C.J. Parish led the Wildcats in sacks this season with 10. The College Station, TX native plays defensive end.
Mohammed Usman will play defensive end in the Casino Del Sol All-Star Game. He started 11 games and had 19 tackles this season. Usman is from Arlington, TX.
Linebacker Paul Vassallo finished second on the Wildcats in tackles with 70. The Reno, NV native started all 12 games and had one sack.
"We are thrilled to add some of the best defensive players on the University of Arizona roster," said Mike Feder, VP & GM of the Tucson Padres, who are operating the Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game. "We were able to get the team leaders in tackles and sacks. I'm sure our local fans are excited to see them close their collegiate careers at Kino Stadium."
The Casino Del Sol College All-Star Game will be played at Kino Stadium in Tucson and will feature more than 90 of the nation's best college football players. The rosters will feature players from nationally known schools like Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Colorado, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Pittsburgh. Full rosters will be released in the coming days.
The game will be broadcast live on FOX Sports Arizona, FOX Sports Southwest PLUS, FOX Sports Houston PLUS, FOX College Sports and SportSouth.
