Four arrested for scrap thefts from Gateway Community College

BURLINGTON, KY (FOX19)-

The Boone County Sheriff's Office Scrap Metal Task Force has arrested four men for their involvement in scrap metal thefts from a Boone County community college.

Police say that the thefts occurred over a month-long period at the Boone Campus of the Gateway Community & Technical College beginning November 2011. Approximately $15,000 of scrap metal had been stolen from the college.

Police from the Scrap Metal Task Force were able to?locate?a pick-up truck caught on a surveillance camera from the college connected to the thefts. That led to the arrest of Michael Parson, 23, from Covington.

Further investigation led to the arrests of Covington residents Joshua Stephenson, 20, and Jimmy Parson, 30, and Norwood resident Mitchell Dean, 24.

Investigators anticipate further charges against the four.
