Wedding Cake Project Turns Ugly On 'Cake Boss: Next Great Baker'

There's an old expression that says, "too many cooks spoil the broth." As we learned on "Cake Boss: Next Great Baker" (Mon., 9 p.m. EST on TLC) the axiom also applies to cakes. During a wedding cake challenge, Ryan Cimorelli and Marissa Lopez butted heads over the cakes' design and cooks' roles in the kitchen. Ryan was the team leader for the challenge, but that didn't stop Marissa from offering her advice on how things should go.

Unfortunately, Ryan wasn't a fan of Marissa's freelancing, and the two got into a heated exchange that got increasingly hostile. "We don't need a lot more shapes, because we're not covering these cakes. Keep doing what you were doing," he told her. "Well if they're not dry, then you can't air brush them," she shot back.

"We need to get the cakes iced, okay? So Megan is in the middle of icing the cakes and she's going to keep doing what she was doing," Ryan replied, raising his voice. That comment seemed to be a turning point in their disagreement, as it devolved from there. "What is the big problem with me making a suggestion ... I know what I'm doing!" Marrissa yelled.

Ryan finally shouted, "Enough! This whole thing is not going to go like this."

Marissa stormed away from her station. "You piss me off right now ... you're not doing a good enough job of making decisions here," she said. Ryan replied that if she'd "keep your mouth shut for once," he'd have an easier time leading the team.

Who knew that the real bridezillas were the bakers making the wedding cakes?
