News Corp Communications Shift: Teri Everett Departing, Julie ...

NEW YORK, NY, January 30, 2012 ? News Corporation today announced that Teri Everett,?News Corporation?s Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Communications will be?leaving the company on February 10. In a related announcement, the Company elevated?Julie Henderson to Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Chief Communications?Officer, expanding her current corporate communications and strategy roles to include?oversight of the company?s global communications, corporate affairs and corporate social?responsibility efforts.

?I am immensely grateful to Teri for leading our communications efforts so adeptly in recent?years,? Rupert Murdoch, Chairman and CEO of News Corporation said. ?During her more?than 10 years with News Corporation, Teri gained not only the trust and respect of all who?worked with her ? but my great appreciation as well. She has been one of our most effective?and well-liked executives. I respect her decision and wish her sincere good luck in her next?endeavors.?

Ms. Everett joined the Company in 2000 as Vice President, Corporate Communications,?spearheading News Corporation?s Los Angeles communications initiatives. Over the?succeeding decade, she expanded her portfolio of responsibilities to include corporate affairs?and corporate social responsibility, ultimately running the Company?s global corporate affairs?and communications efforts from December 2009.

?The past decade has, without a doubt, been the highlight of my career,? commented Ms.?Everett. ?News Corp. executives are a peerless group and I will miss them immensely. I will?always be grateful to Rupert and Chase for their support over the years and am thrilled that?Julie will be succeeding me. While it may be a tired clich?, I am ready for something new.?

Commenting on the promotion, Mr. Murdoch said: ?Julie is simply one of the most talented communications executives in the media business and her elevation is a natural fit for the company. She has expertly run our West Coast communications operations for several years, where she plays a key role in corporate strategy. Julie?s extensive background in digital, coupled with her formidable corporate communications capabilities, make her the right choice for this important role.?

Prior to joining the corporate office, Ms. Henderson served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Communications for the company?s former Fox Interactive Media (FIM) unit. She previously ran the digital division at mPRm Public Relations, where she focused on providing counsel to companies at the convergence of entertainment and technology.

Ms. Henderson, who will divide her time between Los Angeles and New York, will remain based in Los Angeles and report to President and Chief Operating Officer Chase Carey.
