Does bladder cancer spread to the brain ?

Cancer can spread anywhere in the body. When one has cancer, they should try to keep themselves in the highest health possible, not smoking.

What type of bladder cancer is this, is it superficial or something like squamous cell carcinoma? I would imagine that it is possible to spread to the brain but probably to other organs like the kidneys first. He needs to stop smoking and get treatment immediately!

Many tumor or cancer types can spread to the brain, the most common being lung cancer, breast cancer, melanoma, kidney cancer, bladder cancer, certain sarcomas, testicular and germ cell tumors, and a number of others. Some types of cancers only spread to the brain infrequently, such as colon cancer, or very rarely, such as prostate cancer.

There are different types of bladder cancer . . but the answer is . .yes . . metastatic cancer travels through the blood stream. The most common place for mets are the brain, the lungs, and the liver . . but it is possible to travel anywhere. As for your second question about smoking and mets . . the answer is less obvious . . you can read what ASCO reported in this regard.

Yes it can; when this happens, it?s called metastatic bladder cancer.

If so ? is a man still smoking with bladder cancer at more of a risk . I know the obvious answer would be yes in anyone smoking but is brain cancer more of a risk to someone who went undectected with bladder cancer ; then continued smoking ?
